The past few weeks have been full of learning, revolving around the
Holiday Season.
We've used our geometric shapes to create our December quilt and an adorable
Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer.
We've, also, used patterns to create our paper chain on our tree.
Furthermore, we've been working on our number recognition and
counting-on skills
to begin to understand the concept basic addition problems with gingerbread men.
Phew...room 5 is so busy
preparing gifts and
exercising our brains!
Also, your child will soon be bringing home his/her winter placemat that has been painted by them and on the backside has necessary winter skills:
*writing to 100
*identifying numbers
*counting on from any number
*writing first/last name
* sounding out nonsense words for decoding practice
Please make sure your child is using his/her placemat to reinforce the necessary skills for the winter months.
'Tis the Season to be
merry and jolly...
Room 5 wishes you a
Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year!
