4th Grade Buddies!

Last Friday, we had our
4th grade Buddies, from Mrs. Olden's class
come over to help us with a
Halloween project.
Each KinderKid was matched up with a
4th grader, for cross-age linking time.
The KinderKids were in awe of their older peers and, in return, the 4th graders were able to take a leadership role with the KinderKids.
It was a win-win situation for all!
It is my hope that we'll be having a
once-a-month activity with our buddies,
either in our room or the 4th grade room.
Be expecting your darling KinderKid to come home talking about their 4th grade buddies.
Memories.  Love.  Friendships.  Learning!

We had a Field Trip!

On Tuesday, October 20th, our Kindergarten classrooms went to the
Union Gap Corn Maze!
We rode a bus there, which was SUPER DUPER exciting!
Plus, we did not have to wear seat belts!
I think this may have been the best part!

When we got to the corn maze,
we met the farmer and he gave us directions of which stations we could complete.
Boy, we had TONS of families join us!
I know we made a Kinder-memory.
The field trip ended with Princess Belle, Princess Elsa, and Princess Ana singing for us.
The KinderKids LOVED
singing & dancing with them!

As we headed back to the bus,  each Kinder chose their pumpkins.

Pumpkin, pumpkin...
Tiny and round.
I found you, sitting on the ground!

We are a bunch of HAPPY PUMPKINS!

Jog-a-Thon Pictures

Last  Friday, our classroom participated in the annual, Summitview Jog-a-Thon.

The class wore their racing numbers and ran their little hearts out.
The, unusually, warm weather couldn't stop this group from
running, jogging, and sprinting
to help
raise money for
Summitview Elementary.

Thank you to all the families who cheered us on or participated in the Jog-a-Thon!
We love all your support!

Make a BOOK BOX!

What do I do with my child's paper books and Jog-Around boards?

Where should I keep them?
Answer:  A book box, bag, or plastic container

Reading is a practiced skill and good readers practice their reading.
Throughout the school year, your child will
bring home early reading materials
that should be practiced and read 3x.
Does your child have a special box, bag, or area where they can store THEIR reading books and papers?

When a visitor comes to your house, let your child read his/her paper booklets or other "easy readers."
They are so smart!
Let's get reading!
There is a whole world to be opened around them!
