Fun Photos

Well, my old phone stopped working, so I had to get a new phone.
The bad news is that I could not even get my old photos off my old phone.  Bummer!
So, here are a few fun photos that I've taken these past few weeks.
I must say, Room 5 is full of some of the cutest and
SMARTEST KinderKids!
 I'm one lucky teacher.

Mother's Day Celebration!

Friday, May 12th was a lovely afternoon with our Moms and even some Grandmas.
The Kinders sang songs, massaged hands, gave gifts, and shared a yummy dessert.
It was, most certainly, a day to remember!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
ALL OUR SPECIAL MOMS!
WE LOVE YOU!

We have Butterflies!

Our life cycle is now complete!
This Monday, we had our butterflies begin to emerge and, boy-oh-boy,
 it was so exciting!
Our Painted Lady Butterflies
are beautiful and the outside of their wings have an eye print and the inside of the wings are
orange and black.
The KinderKids are so
enamored with the butterflies.
Unfortunately, these butterflies are not native to our area, so we have to send them back to the scientists to begin the life cycle again.
First comes a butterfly that lays an egg.
Out comes a caterpillar with many legs.
Oh, see the caterpillar spin and spin, a little chrysalis to sleep in!
Oh, oh, oh---wait and see!
Oh, oh, oh---wait and see!
Out of the chrysalis, my-oh-my.
Out comes a beautiful butterfly.

Caterpillars and Butterflies!

For the past few weeks, we've watched our larvae (caterpillars) grow, eat, sleep, and molt!
We've, also, observed and documented in our science notebooks!

They've made their J-forms and are now sleeping
 in their chrysalis (pupa).
By the end of next week,
Room 5 should have some butterflies before we have to say goodbye to them.
Please plan on stopping by before May 19th to come and see them.
Be sure to ask your child about the life cycle of a butterfly.
You'll be in awe of what they have learned and understand.
