4th Grade Buddy fun!

This past Wednesday, we had our amazing 4th grade buddies come into our room from Mrs. Johnson's room.  They helped us illustrate and write what we were going to dress up for Halloween.
Now, we have an AWESOME BIG BOOK to look through.
Memories made.
Friends forever.
Kindergarten ROCKS!

Spider Cookie Party!

Thank you to all our families who came to our Spider Cookie Party yesterday.
Room 5 ALWAYS love having our families into our room.
Spiders are helpful...ask me why!

Mark your calendars for Monday, November 21st for our next invite for you to come inside our room for a fun, Thanksgiving concert!
Thank you to Callie's mom for coming to read to us before the spider cookie party.
If you'd like to come read to room 5,
let Mrs. Brennan know!
We always love visitors.

Can you help me...

  • Write my numbers to 20 or higher?
  • Count aloud to 100 by 1's, 5's, and 10's?
  • Write, read, and spell my sight-words?
  • Read my jog-arounds for fluency?
  • Practice my letters and sounds, if I'm not on the coconut tree?
These are important, foundational skills that must be mastered before any    application can take place
(adding, subtracting, deconstructing #'s, or writing/reading).

Thank you for helping your child succeed!

Make a Book Box!

What do I do with my child's paper books and Jog-Around boards?

Where should I keep them?
Answer:  A book box, bag, or plastic container
Reading is a practiced skill and good readers practice their reading.
Throughout the school year, your child will
bring home early reading materials
that should be practiced and read 3x.
Does your child have a special box, bag, or area where they can store THEIR reading books and papers?

When a visitor comes to your house, let your child read his/her paper booklets or other "easy readers."
They are so smart!
Let's get reading!
There is a whole world to be opened around them!

Jog-a-Thon Fun

It was wet, but there was still
 laughter, giggles,
and lots of smiles
as the kids ventured outside, in the rain, to run/walk/jog for about 20 minutes.
Blitz, from the Seahawks, was waiting for us in the gym for a quick picture afterwards.
PTO will share more pictures later.
Thank you!

We can see a...

SPIDER!
This month is all about learning that spiders are helpful!
Ask your child to teach you some spider facts:
*Spiders are NOT bugs!
*Spiders are arachnids.
*Some spiders swim.
*Not all spiders spin webs.
*Spiders can hunt or catch their prey in a web.
*Spiders keep large animals happy by catching flies.
Families, you will be amazed by how much your child knows about these
8-legged arachnids.
Room 5 is full of amazing KinderKids!
