Earth Day!

On Friday, April 22nd our classroom celebrated Earth Day.
We read about recycling, reusing materials, picking up litter on the ground, and then we created our Earth.
We love our Earth.
We love the Earth's animals.
We love the Earth's mountains.
We love the Earth's deserts.
We love the Earth's oceans.
We love our home, the Earth!
To end the day, we put on a glove and went outside to our playground and picked up any trash we found.
We, truly, love our Earth!

Teeny, Tiny Caterpillars!

Our caterpillars have arrived and, boy, they are teeny tiny.
We have observed them and we're amazed!
Can your child tell you about the caterpillars?
*6 true legs
*10 pro-legs
*bristles
*jaw
*spiracles
*segmented body
Plus, we had to to investigate the food that our caterpillars will eat. The caterpillars will be eating blended up MALLOW plant.
We used some of our senses to investigate:  sight, smell, touch...
it smelled disgusting!
Mallow in individual cups after exploring the
smell, sight, and feel of it.  Uck!

April ART PROJECTS!

The sun is shining and the warm,         spring weather is filling our
hearts with happiness.
In order to get in the TRUE springtime spirit, we decided to make some special artwork to display in the room.
On Monday, we began to talk about the Life Cycle of a Butterfly
and we made our April quilt.
Come in and see our masterpieces!
Then, on Tuesday, we read Eric Carle's most popular story called
The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Can you see our own hungry caterpillars eating through the food?
We LOVED this book and cannot wait to read more Eric Carle stories.
If you have a minute, come in and see all of our hard work.
We ARE artists!
