Web of Knowledge!

We have had such a busy month learning about spiders!
We've learned different species of spiders, their habitats, varying types of webs they spin, body parts, if they hunt or spin webs,  etc.
Few~~we are now, officially,
SPIDER EXPERTS!
On Wednesday, we concluded our theme with making our own web by passing the string after stating something we LEARNED about spiders this month!
Ask your child to teach you that spiders are really helpful!

Halloween is Monday!

Your child is welcome to come to school in his/her costume.  Remember, guns/swords/weapons/scary masks are not allowed.
We will have our mini-carnival from 9am to 10am in our hallway.  Parents are welcome to escort their child to and from the stations.
I hope to see you all!
It should be a spooktacular time!
*Parents are welcome to dress up, too!
Don't forget!  12pm release ALL NEXT WEEK for conferences!

Spider Cookie Fun!

This past Monday, we invited our families into our classroom for a delicious snack...SPIDER COOKIES!  Afterwards, we read spider books.
It was a relaxing way to spend the last 45 minutes of our day!  Ahhh...
We had a fantastic group of families who came...19 of the 24!  WOW!!
Thank you to all the families who donated the ingredients and/or who took time out of their busy schedules to come!
We appreciate you!

I see a spider!

We have learned how to write the sentence, "I see a ________."
Since we're studying spiders, we filled in the blank with "spider."
Check out our funny faces when we DID see a spider climbing down the wall!

Spiders!

October brings a month full of studying the 8-legged creatures!  We wil find out why they're important to nature, the types of webs they build, and specifics about body parts.
Be prepared to hear lots of fun facts!
Our science table is reserved for observations of spiders, so if you find one, please send it in a closed container.
