Measuring in Math

We have begun our new math unit...MEASURING!

This week, we, formally, created our rulers to measure using standard tools.

The KinderKids are LOVING this and cannot wait to

measure everything in site.

Help your child, at home, by measuring using a measuring tape, yard stick, or just feet.

By the end of May, your child should be able to...

*Write his/her first name and last name

*Identify the letters/sounds of the alphabet

*Write basic C-V-C words

*Write numbers to 30+

*Count aloud to 50+

*Count backwards from 20-0, with some guidance
*Recognize numbers 0-20, in random order, with little assistance
*Follow a 3-4 step direction.

*Subtract differences within 10, using multiple strategies

*Use environmental print around the room to write simple stories.

*Use problem-solving skills to resolve conflict with peers.
