Thinking Faces

With conference week approaching next week, I asked the kids...

"Hmm...what will your parents think of your learning so far? What will they say?"

The KinderKids gave me their best thinking faces and, boy, they came out adorable!

By the end of May, your child should be able to...

*Write his/her first name and last name

*Identify the letters/sounds of the alphabet

*Write basic C-V-C words

*Write numbers to 30+

*Count aloud to 50+

*Count backwards from 20-0, with some guidance
*Recognize numbers 0-20, in random order, with little assistance
*Follow a 3-4 step direction.

*Read/write sight-words:

*Identify/describe basic shapes

*Cut out basic shapes

*Read CVC words with decoding skills

*Count by 2's to 20, with a tool/assistance

*Add sums within 10, using multiple strategies

*Subtract differences within 10, using multiple strategies

*Use environmental print around the room to write simple stories.

*Use problem-solving skills to resolve conflict with peers.
