What happens when you put 2 letters together to make a new sound?

Well, you get a digraph!

Room 5 has been practicing our digraphs because it will help us spell words when we are sound spelling.

Look!

-ing says /ing/ like in sing!

-ch says /ch/ like in chug.

-sh says /sh/ like in shut.

-oo says /oo/ like in boo!

-th says /th/ like in think

or

/th/ like in the!

-ow says /ow/ like in cow.

Remember, good readers practice reading, so be sure to read to your child and they read to you!

We are exercising our brains, so we can go into 1st grade as readers and writers!

Graham Cracker Houses!

Thank you to all the families who came on Thursday, December 17th for the creations of our holiday graham cracker houses.  

We had an amazing turn out, even as the snow fell and the roads were crummy.
